The island of Ge'en

Hi guys,

By the Mo'Jaals! Ragnar has shared the following picture on Facebook, with this description: "A bit of impromptu Dreamfall Chapters concept art: The island of Ge'en. At least as it looks in my head. By way of my new Pogo Connect pen and Paper on the iPad."

For those of you who don't remember the island being mentioned in TLJ, here is a quick recap on what we know about Ge'en (thanks to the wiki):

Ge'en is an island in the Sea of Song, near Alais and the Bristan Atoll. Its capital is Aeras and its major export is apples. The population are a "spiritual people" who worship the Mo'Jaal. Being an island, its inhabitants are a seafaring folk, represented in TLJ by Captian Horatio Nebevay. The appear to have an unfair justice system, as Captain Nebevay implies when he threatens to haul April before the "Three Biased Judges of Ge'en".

So it looks like we have got another confirmed location for Chapters. I am looking forward to learning more about this island, and possibly about the fate of the Aliatient, Maerum, Orlowol, Q'aman and the Stickmen who all lived in this region back in the day, and thus might have a chance of appearing in Dreamfall Chapters.

That's all I have for you guys right now, as always, don't forget to check back as new info appears.

The Red Thread Games website is here

Hi guys,

So the Red Thread Games website is finally available! With it came the very first screenshot "Autumn in Marcuria". Now I have seen some people complain that this are the same graphics that were used with Dreamfall (and yes they are), but this is probably an early alpha version, and by now I would settle from a new game with DF graphics too.

There were three smart-ass comments below the picture:
1. Marcuria is back. It's some time after the end of Dreamfall, and things have changed. How they've changed, we're not revealing quite yet.
2. Dreamfall took place in winter. Dreamfall Chapters takes place in ALL season. The above shot is Marcuria in autmn.
3. We're actually working on Dreamfall Chapters. We didn't make it up to avoid embarrasing questions from our parents about what we're doing with our lives.

So a few things stand out to me, first of all: There is no snow. Sure you can go like, duh! it's the autumn, but it sure is refreshing to see Marcuria in a differend state. Another thing that I was wondering about right away is: WDTRG (Where Did The Road Go)? In Dreamfall (and TLJ) there was a paved road in this street, but that does not seem to be here anymore, also TREES!  Trees are good.

It also seems to me that the tower has been moved to the left (compared to what we saw in Dreamfall), which might not mean anything at all, but I found it curious. Last but not least it is simply nice to see the game's logo again.

On the website there is an announcement for a TWITTER COMPETITION to enter the kickstarter party on februari the 7th, which means that kickstarter is not that far away! Whatever the case I am curious to see what else Red Thread Game will have in store for us in the next few months.

That's all I have for you guys right now, as always, don't forget to check back as new info appears.

Ps. Check the very awesome 404 message. That is very curious, very curious indeed.

2013

Hi guys,

So it have been a slow couple of weeks (again), but I finally have some (small) nice things that I can talk about. First of all Ragnar mentioned that the new controls from Dreamfall Chapters already feel a lot better than Dreamfall's controls. They will be a combination of full 3D movement and point-and-click interaction. An announcement that makes me VERY happy! I want [W] to make me go forward and not move away from the camera, thank you very much!

In other new Red Thread Games is now on twitter (their website is not live yet though). They have already tweeted a very nice picture with Funcom employee Dag Scheve. It is good to see that wheels are turning, and that they are working on the whole Kickstarter project. Though it did make me wonder though... didn't Ragnar say in the RPS interview that they would not be taking any Funcom employees? Whatever happened to that?

Also now that it is 2013 (happy "new" year y'all) I am really looking forward to the prommised (tasty) gifts we will be getting this year. I cannot wait to discovering more about Dreamfall Chapters and I hope you guys will stick along with me on this journey.

That's all I have for you guys, as always, don't forget to check back as new info appears.
